Homeboyz Radio Apologizes for Distasteful Remark on Slain Girl

Slain Ivy Wangechi, a sixth year Bachelor of Medicine student at Moi University, who whose life was taken by her alleged lover Naftali Njahi Kinuthia on Tuesday got tongues wagging causing an uproar, tension, and fear on social media

According to the latest news 29-year-old Naftali who works for a betting firm is said to have traveled all the way from Thika to Eldoret in his car which he parked next to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) before proceeding to town on a boda boda where he bought an axe and knife stashed them in a sack and waited for her at the gate.

He attacked the victim and hacked her to death, then tried to flee but boda boda operators cornered him and lynched him. The man sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at the MTRH.

Popular Radio Presenter Didge of Homeboyz’ Mtaani show heartlessly said Ms Wangechi deserved to die because she was not loyal, on air last night during his show, a statement that angered Kenyans On Twitter.

“She died because she wasn’t loyal. That is the honest truth, right? Yeah, ali-deadi juu hakuwa loyal, sindio?” posed Didge to much shock of listeners and online users.

Following the uproar over his distasteful remarks, Didge has been suspended together with the show, and Homeboyz Management has issued an official statement, apologizing to the public, upholding that they remain committed to providing cutting edge content without offense.

” Last Night (Tuesday) on the Homeboyz during the show on Mtaani one of our presenters made a comment regarding the recent killing of a student at Moi University. After reviewing the show we have found the comments made to be in extremely poor taste and apologize without reservation. We have removed the show from the schedule pending a further internal investigation. The presenter in question has been immediately suspended by the station. Once again we apologize to our listeners and the wider community as a whole. We remain committed to providing cutting edge content without offense,” read an official statement by the Group Managing Director.
