Family Members of the late Kibra MP have been barred from cremating of burrying his remails by a Nairobi Court following a pending case filed by his secret lover over their son.

Anne Muthoni Thumbi, the said lover of the late who is also a Nairobi MCA, sought the help of a court to have his son fecognised by Okoth’s family. She that the said minor is a biological son of the late legislator, adding that the family has decided to have his body cremated so as to destroy any evidence of the minor’s lineage to the decease.

“The mother and the wife (of the deceased) have deliberately and unfortunately opted to exclude me from the funeral and burial arrangements of Okoth,” claimed Ms. Thumbi

In the case, Ms Thumbi has named Okoth’s mother Angeline Okoth, his wife Monica Okoth as well as the Lee Funeral Home as respondents in the case.

Following the case the court issued a directive barring the family members form proceeding with the cremation of Okoth’s remains, noting that the case will be heard on August 9, 2019 before a Senior Principal Magistrate.

“That in the interim a temporary injunction be and is hereby issued restraining the 1st and 2nd defendant (Okoth’s mother and wife), either by themselves, their servants or agents from conducting the burial, interment, cremation and or in any manner whatsoever dispose of the body or remains of the late Mr. Ken Okoth pending the hearing and determination of the instant application interparties,” the court issued a directive.
