Kenya Defence Force Opportunities Now Open For Applications

If you have been looking to work with the Ministry of Defense in Kenya, now it will be the best time to send in your application before the deadline. In the months of October and November, the Ministry through the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has announced to the general public that it will be recruiting General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets, Specialist Officers, General Duty Recruits, Tradesmen/women and Constables.

According to the job advert by the Ministry, the public has been cautioned about fraudsters who take advantage of such opportunities to take advantage of Kenyans, clearly stating that the KDF recruitment is free for all.

Opportunities under stated posts

For the KDF, recruiting teams consisting of the Kenya Army, the Kenya Air Force and the Kenya Navy will be visiting the Recruiting Centres (County Headquarters) as indicated in the advert to recruit General Service Officers, General Duty Recruits and Defence Forces Constables.

Under the specialist officers, there are over 20 posts for experts in a number of professional fields including. Statistics officers, Project Managers, Lawyers, Journalists, Accounting officers, Lawyers, Dentists, Public Health officers, Engineers among others.

Tradesmen and women should have a diploma in Human Resource Management, Journalism (Print Journalist, Audio – Visual Producer, Mechanical Engineering (Plant/Production), Medical Laboratory,Painting/Coating Technology, Para Legal, Pharmaceutical Technology, Plumbing and Pipe Fitting/Plumbing Technology, Project Planning and Management, Public Health/Environmental Science, Purchasing and Supplies Management to mention but a few.

Those with certificates in Auto/Motor Vehicle Electrical, Automotive/Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Carpentry and Joinery, Composite Manufacturing Technology, Electrical and Electronics, Marine/Ship Construction, Masonry and Brick Laying, Plant Operations (Heavy Plant/Crane/Forklift/Tug Operations), Plumbing and Pipe Fitting
Welding and Fabrication are eligible for this post.

Requirements

  • Must be a Kenyan citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be in possession of a valid Kenyan National Identity Card. (4 Copies of
    National Identity Card and PIN certificate)
  •  Age – between 18 and 26 years old for GSO Cadets, General Duty Recruits
    and Tradesmen/women with Certificate/Government Trade Test, not above 30 years
    for Specialist Officers, Tradesmen/women with Diploma, and not above 39 years
    for Chaplains/Imams.
  • Female candidates must NOT be pregnant at the time of recruitment and
    during the entire duration of training.
