KDF recruitment scheduled for October 28, has been postponed by the government for a later date yet to be revealed to the public. As per the government, the recruitment was to take place at the county headquarters, but this move has seen members of the Parliamentary Defence and Foreign Relations Committee clash with Defense CS Raychelle Omamo over recruitment centers.

They now want the exercise to be held at the sub-counties to give hundreds of youths a shot at the recruitment and Defence Committee Chair Katoo Ole Metito confirmed that the Ministry had canceled the earlier advertisement on the exercise taking place between October 28 to November 7.

“We resolved as a committee that the ministry reverts to sub-counties as recruitment centers. The ministry has since informed the committee that the advertisement has been canceled and new dates for recruitment will be announced,” said Ole Metito.

Ministry through the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) had announced to the general public that it will be recruiting General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets, Specialist Officers, General Duty Recruits, Tradesmen/women and Constables.

According to the job advert by the Ministry, the public had been cautioned about fraudsters who take advantage of such opportunities to take advantage of Kenyans, clearly stating that the KDF recruitment is free for all.

Recruiting teams consisting of the Kenya Army, the Kenya Air Force, and the Kenya Navy were to visit the Recruiting Centres (County Headquarters) to recruit General Service Officers, General Duty Recruits and Defence Forces Constables.
