Huduma Centres Scale Down Operations Over COVID-19

Coronavirus is affecting the operations of government agencies, as Huduma Centre mandated with enhancing access and delivery of Government Services to all Kenyans, has announced that it will only be offering only two services. Kenyans have been urged to make good use of government services available online.

“Huduma Centre is committed to ensuring safety during the COVID19 pandemic. For this reason, we will be scaling down operations at Huduma Centres as of 18th March 2020. Huduma centre will only be offering two services; a collection of processed Identity Cards and a collection of processed birth certificates.

“Kindly be advised that you can still access several government services online and via mobile platforms.  These services include; KRA, Kenya Power, Business registration, CRB, select NHIF and NSSF services, NTSA among others. While at the Huduma Centres, all customers are advised to utilise the available hand sanitizers, maintain a distance of about two metres between each other. cough/sneeze into their sleeves disposable tissues and discard them properly. We also urge you to follow all government advisory on COVID 19. Stay safe and God bless Kenya,” read a notice to the public.

So far, seven cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country. Government through the Ministry of Health has been actively creating awareness of the virus and encouraging citizens to practice social distancing and self-quarantine to contain the virus. All public gatherings and events have been banned. The public transport system has been advised to provide passengers with sanitizers to combat the virus.
