Following the death of corporate titan Bob Collymore who succumbed to blood cancer on Monday morning at his home, Michael Joseph a board member Safaricom PLC and a former official the helm of the telco giant has been appointed as Safaricom Interim CEO.
In an official statement by the company, a special Board Meeting of Directors that was held resolved to appoint Mr Michael Joseph as Interim Chief Executive Officer of the company with immediate effect.

Michael Joseph, a former CEO of Safaricom and currently the chairman of the board of Kenya Airways will hold the position until the board communicates in due course about his permanent appointment. He is set to provide the necessary guidance and leadership to the company and its employees in the meantime.
