Kalasha Awards Nominees Unveiled

Nominees of the 9th edition of Kalasha International Film and TV Awards have today been unveiled. Kalasha Awards is an annual event by the Kenya Films Commission that celebrates exceptional talent in the Film & TV industry in Kenya. Following a successful call for entries, Kalasha received 959 entries in the 34 categories that were up for competition.

The Commission identified StarTimes ON, an online mobile application as the strategic platform where the shortlisted films will be uploaded for viewing and public voting from 30th October to 30th November. StarTimes application is the only online voting application for the awards where entries prepared by Kenya Film Commission will be uploaded.

Among the nominees who have been shortlisted in the different categories include;

Best Original Screenplay

  • Lost In Time – Edijoe Mwaniki
  • Admission Protocol – Odipo Riaga
  • Dreamchild – Mona Ombogo

Best Director of Photography

  • Lost In Time – Andrew Odera
  • The Whistle Blower – Abdi Shuria
  • Plan B – Victor Ombogo You Again – Kevin Egerton Davies
  • What’s on Your Mind? – David Kariuki

Best Feature Film

  • Plan B – Sarah Hassan
  • Dreamchild – Appie Matere
  • You Again – Nick Mutuma
  • Lost In Time – Edijoe Mwaniki
  • Ensulo – Njoki Muhoho
  • Lusala – Siobhain Ginger Wilson
  • Poker – Dancurf Brown
  • Promises – Njoki Muhoho

Best Original Score
